LUAK

Good news every one (as the professor of Futurama would say). Luak is going to the Montafon valley in Austria (Oostenrijk) from Wednesday evening 5 February until Sunday 9 February. LUAK and a certain former LUAK president Mr. De Winne (many thanks) have found a very nice house over there with several rooms, showers, large living/eating room and even children proof. The house is located in Tschaggun which is about 7,5hours driving from Leuven. (http://www.gaestehaus-doblinger.at) More importantly, everybody who likes the mountains at winter time will have something to do:

- Ski on the pist or off pist: there is about 218km of well-prepared slopes and there are also avalanche free, but unprepared ski slopes

- Tour skiing: Montafon is a top area with too many options to name of all kind of difficulty (for example: bvb: wannakopfle, kreuzjoch, ofaklopf, drusenturm, tschaggunser, mittagspitze, roedkopf, madrisajoch, sulzfluh.... (zie topo rother "voralberg") and next to it is also the silvretta toerskigebied)

- In montafon are also several ice waterfalls, including one of 700 meters (max 4de degree), but also shorter ones (see eiskletterfuehrer bregenz bis garmisch). Close by (only 30 minutes driving is the brandner tal which is one of the best ice climbing areas in Austria.

You need to do this before Tuesday 14 January, this way we can divide the cost of the house by the number of people staying and we can let you know how much one night will cost. Who’s in?
